The world is a dangerous place to live in,
not because of the people that do evil; but because of the people that stand by and let them do it.

COPD
is one of a group of Invisible Disabilities we have
all of our body parts, all the parts look fine to them, what is wrong
is inside us. It is not visible to the public. To some of them we are
the bad one's using a handicapped stall when we are just too lazy
to walk farther. Don't let them put you or others like you down.
Wearing a cannula is nothing to be ashamed of, they just don't
understand it. (If pollution gets much worse everyone may need
it someday!)
Did
you know that handicapped was a derrogatory name given to the damaged
and crippled in the old world? It described them as they were
seen at the time: The beggars and cripples, a.k.a. creeps, sitting
in the street with their cap in hand. This view is still all around
us and it is growing everyday. People with disabilities know what
it is, it is oppressing people with disabilities into a lower
life form than able-bodied people. It is the people being prejudice
against people with disabilities.
The
word handicapped is today's label to describe those
who have a physical disability. Some people think that saying
handicapped is nicer than crippled Many
other names can also be used to describe the disAbled, but please
don't make it seem that you are defining people by their deficiencies
or disadvantages. It is time for the world to see us as we are,
strong capable individuals facing challenges many have never considered
as challenges. Like getting up stairs in a wheelchair (two or
three steps up equals a mile), attempting to use a walker on gravel
and dirt roads (because we have to get somewhere), breathing when
the smoke or pollution is so strong your eye's water, your throat is closing and the air is so clogged with smoke or pollution you can't inhale enough oxygen to fill your lungs.
